Minecraft: Story Mode episode 1 available for free

The first episode of Telltale’s adventure game Minecraft: Story Mode is now available for free. However, you can only get it from Microsoft’s store, which means you either need an Xbox One or Windows 10 PC. At this point, all eight chapters have been out in the wild for more than a month now, since the release of the last one on September 13. The series was originally planned to consist of 5 episodes, but then Telltale decided to make three more. This may cause some confusion if you decide to buy the whole thing. In addition to The Complete Season (contains episodes 1-5), which is sold for $19.99, there is also The Complete Adventure (ep. 1-8), worth $29.99.

Minecraft: Story Mode is one of Telltale’s episodic adventure game series. Similarly to the studio’s other titles, such as The Walking Dead, The Wolf Among Us, and Game of Thrones, it puts much emphasis on decision-making and cinematic narrative instead of traditional puzzle-solving. For their games Telltale strike deals with owners of popular franchises in order to make games based on well-known universes. This one is obviously set in the voxel-built world of Minecraft, an increadibly popular IP created by Mojang, which now belongs to Microsoft. While the first Minecraft is an online sandbox, Telltale’s Story Mode tells an original story of Jesse, an unlikely hero, who must set out on a dangerous journey in order to save the world.
