Darkest Dungeon: The Crimson Court launches today

If you've enjoyed the grim adventure in Darkest Dungeon so far, it's almost time to expand the experience with The Crimson Court DLC, launching today on PC.

Later today, at 10 AM PDT, the first expansion for the award-winning grim dungeon crawler Darkest Dungeon by Red Hook Studios is going live on Steam. The Crimson Court introduces a new storyline, which can be played alongside your existing campaign. With it the DLC brings along a new hero class, dungeon region called The Courtyard, full faction of hideous enemies and bosses, new buildings for your Hamlet as well as a bunch of secrets to discover and items to loot. Note that the add-on requires the original game to play. Here’s the official launch trailer:

The main theme of the DLC is a new type of disease – the Crimson Curse, which can turn your heroes into blood-thirsty vampires as they fight the three leaders of the eponymous Crimson Court and their minions. If that happens, you must repeatedly satisfy their craving before it turns them into monsters. At the same time you should beware of the new roaming boss: The Fanatic. Overzealous in his effort to prevent the Curse, he sets out to slay everyone in the Courtyard, enemies and allies alike.

Darkest Dungeon: The Crimson Court is also planned to launch for PlayStation 4 and PlayStation Vita, but the release dates for these versions are yet unknow.
