Lords of the Fallen producer Tomek Gop now working for Hatred creators

Tomek Gop, who had been co-developing Lords of the Fallen 2 for CI Games, has been pushed away from that project and is now working on Ancestors for Hatred creators, Destructive Creations.

Tomek Gop, Lords of the Fallen executive producer, has been fired from CI Games where he had been participating in the development of its sequel, Lords of the Fallen 2. The famous Polish developer – who also used to work at CD Projekt RED as senior producer for The Witcher 2: Assassin’s of Kings – has now been hired by creators of the controversial top-down shooter Hatred and IS Defense, Destructive Creations, based in Gliwice, Poland. There he serves a key role in preparing the studio’s next project: Ancestors, a Medieval-based real-time strategy featuring four playable factions (Slavs, Germanic peoples, Vikings, and Anglo-Saxons).

Both Tomek Gop and Destructive Creations CEO Jaroslaw Zielinski are very excited about the collaboration. The former is an experienced developer, although he never worked on the RTS genre, and will help Zielinski manage the teamwork as well as promote the game.

Interestingly, this is the second time that Tomasz Gop parts ways with CI Games. Back in 2015 he was pushed away from his position as executive producer at Lords of the Fallen 2 team, after which he returned to the studio in 2016, this time as a game designer. The first time Gop was fired, CI Games explained that the developer’s vision for the sequel of the quite successful action-RPG differed from theirs too much. Why let him go the second time? Probably to “cut fixed costs”, Gop believes. As we informed you last week, CI Game had decided to give up on creating AAA games, after the poor performance of their Sniper: Ghost Warrior 3. What exactly does it mean for Lords of the Fallen 2, we don’t know, but it surely doesn’t sound good.
