Mortal Kombat 11 - brutal gameplay and beta-tests

The NetherRealm Studios has revealed the previously hidden cards and presented a new gameplay from Mortal Kombat 11. Moreover, the developers allowed us to have a sneak peak at a few characters.

Mortal Kombat 11 has been officially presented in London. During the livestream broadcasted on YouTube (and more precisely on the WBGamesUK channel), the developers from NetherRealm Studios presented gameplay, showed some new and returning characters, and shared specifics about the wide range of modifications that we will be able to make in the appearance of our warriors. Before we go into details, we would like to remind you that people who want to take part in beta-tests (starting on March 28), must submit a pre-order for the title (which will also net them an additional fighter – Shao Khan).

For a good start, we have for you a story trailer of Mortal Kombat 11, whose action takes place right after the events of Mortal Kombat X. This time the warriors will have to face younger versions of themselves, and the confusion was caused by no one else than Rain.

Above and below you’ll find some gameplay footage. As a standard for the series the duels are extremely brutal – enabling us to break our opponents' bones, tear out their frozen heads together with their spine; we’ll bite/tear/cut out pieces of meat and skin from their bodies, pierce their heads with blades.... In short, we’ll find here everything that fans of the series dream aboute at nights. It is worth mentioning that the developers themselves describe the game as the most brutal installment of the cycle. A separate mention should be given to three indicators that you’ll need to keep an eye while playing. We are talking about life bars, attack and defense; the last two will be replenishing themselves durig the duel.

As far as the characters go, the newcomers are represented by Geras, who is able to control time (but not only that, because he has also some quite unique abilities). Baraka will make a come back, his original debut took place in Mortal Kombat II, as well as Skarlet, known from the ninth part of the series. Interestingly, each fighter will have three different versions, and if that wasn't enough, their appearance can be customized to individual preferences; the possibilities of editing costumes and weapons (or even “entries" to the arena) will be exceptionally rich.

Finally, it was revealed that Sonya Blade will be be voice acted by Ronda Rousey, an American mixed martial arts; one more thing that was shown were the contents of the collector's edition, the most important element of which will be Scorpion’s mask.
