SNOW IN A NUTSHELL:

  1. Developer: Poppermost Productions, WastedStudios
  2. Publisher: Crytek
  3. Genre: sports
  4. Platforms: PC (Steam)
  5. Date of premiere: 14 February 2019

Yesterday, the full version of SNOW - a free winter sports game with an open world, was released by Crytek. The production was developed by Poppermost Productions and WastedStudios and is available only on computers (via the Steam platform).

So, time for the good news! I'm happy to announce that we have signed a publishing agreement with Crytek who committed resources towards further developing SNOW. Crytek and WastedStudios (the team of talented developers who now actually work on the game) have been busy since late 2018 preparing the 1.0 release of SNOW, which is live today! Crytek and WastedStudios have spent ample time making sure the game is as stable as possible and have also had the chance to add new features and make much-needed improvements to the game's product offering," reads a note published by developers.

SNOW offers the opportunity to create your own character, choose the equipment for him/her from an extensive catalogue (we can ride both on a snowboard and on skis), and then move freely on a large mountain, where you will find a variety of activities - 36 events, 13 challenges, 39 awards to win and nearly twenty viewpoints to see. The title allows you to play alone and with friends - thanks to the simple, online multiplayer mode.

The advantage of SNOW is also a decent graphic design, maintained in a quite realistic convention and an efficient physics engine. Anyway, have a look at the premiere trailer below. It is also worth getting acquainted with the hardware requirements.

Minimum hardware requirements

  1. Processor: Intel Core 2 Duo 3 GHz / AMD Phenom II x2 3 GHz
  2. Memory: 4 GB RAM
  3. Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 460 1GB VRAM / AMD HD 6850 1GB VRAM
  4. HDD: 10 GB of free space
  5. DirectX: version 11
  6. Network: broadband Internet connection
  7. Operating system: Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 (64-bit)
  8. Additional note: integrated graphics are not supported, although they may work with the game.

Recommended hardware requirements

  1. Processor: Intel Core i3 2.6 GHz / AMD Phenom II X4 3 GHz
  2. Memory: 8 GB RAM
  3. Graphics card: Nvidia GeForce GTX 770 2GB / AMD R9 280X 3GB
  4. HDD: 10 GB of free space
  5. DirectX: version 11
  6. Network: broadband Internet connection
  7. Operating system: Windows 7, Windows 8.1, Windows 10 (64-bit)
  8. Additional note: integrated graphics are not supported, although they may work with the game.

The game looks interesting and fans of winter sports should consider giving it a chance - especially that in recent years there have not been too many productions dealing with this subject (for released in 2016, the unfortunate Steep from Ubisoft is better to lower the veil of silence), and the title Crytek can be downloaded completely for free.
