Years of waiting for the new release in one of the best gangster series are soon to be over. The intensifying rumors regarding the third Mafia seem to have a strong basis – let’s round up our expectations.

- More ways to make money and a bribe system
- A day and night cycle influencing the missions
- More radio stations with music fitting the time period
- Our own small gang
- More cutscenes and character customization.
If it wasn’t for recent Twitter activity of Rick Pasqualone, most of the fans of gangster stories would still hopelessly await a new visit to Lost Heaven and Empire Bay. Why did the tweet cause commotion? First and foremost, he was the one to play Vito Scaletta, the main character of Mafia II. Tweeting: ‘Might have some Mafia news soon!’ wouldn’t mean that much for a regular person, but those who hope for the return of the charming gangster, interpreted it as an unofficial confirmation, that ‘something is going on’ regarding the rumored Mafia III. It’s tough to blame them for getting their hopes up – hardly anyone would be better informed than the voice actor himself. Whether the tease foreshadows a mere announcement of a re-edition, or could lead to a third entry in the franchise, remains to be seen. Taking into account the second scenario, it’s worth to consider what changes could be made in the new release. After a splendid first Mafia, and a well-done sequel (which sadly didn’t reach its’ full potential) the third one certainly has the bar set up high, but nothing stands in its’ way to go down in history as a great game too.
