Compared to ambitious TV series, movies, and books, video games offer plots that barely hold water most of the time, even in the cases of the critically acclaimed titles. And while they compensate with numerous other elements, it can be difficult to understand – why do we settle for mediocrity?
Nier: Automata, The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild, Super Mario Odyssey, Horizon Zero Dawn – 2017 was certainly generous with good games, and should be remembered as one of the good years of the industry.
