Cyberpunk 2077 has been delayed – again! It made us wonder about how long this game has been in development, and we started to compare it to... anything that came to our minds, actually.

Michelangelo crunched before… well, 500 years ago
- Duration: 4 years and 5 months
- When: May 1508 – October 1512
The moment of completion of the work is considered to be the removal of the scaffolding.
Michelangelo was... quite a feller. Sculptor, painter, poet, architect, acrobat. A true man of renaissance and art. He painted the famous frescoes on the ceiling of the Sistine Chapel in Rome in just four years. FOUR YEARS! However, we are aware that this work was not among the easiest and... Michelangelo definitely crunched. There are some preserved testimonies of conflicts between the artist and the Pope, Julius II, who apparently couldn't wait for the results of the master's efforts.
I don't know how hard he had to crunch to paint the frescoes in the Sistine Chapel. However, I guess that creating such a huge and beautiful painting, a few meters above the ground, holding his arm outstretched upwards, would not be an easy task for the whole team. Meanwhile, Michelangelo did most of the work himself, because he also could not quickly find suitable candidates. Perhaps it had something to do with deadlines, or perhaps simply with the difficult character of the artist, as he was known for a rather difficult disposition. Nevertheless, the frescoes of the Sistine Chapel "went gold" in 1511, and in 1512 the last scaffolding was removed and the painting work was shown to the world. Which, by the way, caused a lot of controversy, because to this day on the belly of Adam, who stretches out his hand to God, we can see... the navel, which testifies to the very natural origin of the first man.
But that's not all – in 1534, the brave Michelangelo began work on his most recognizable work – The Last Judgment. That one was completed in eight years. During this time, the pope has changed. But there's more! In 1984, Michelangelo became a ninja turtle. But this is a completely different story.
DO YOU KNOW WHAT ELSE WAS CREATED IN FOUR YEARS?
The Mona Lisa. One of the most recognizable paintings in the history of art, which supposedly hid the Leonardo da Vinci code. You know, the guy who later repaired and improved Ezio Auditore's hidden blade. I don't know what code was hidden under the layers of paint, but it certainly wasn't the Steam code for Cyberpunk 2077.
