It will be a story of Justice. One man was upset that his sim was constantly being robbed. In The Sims 3, you can identify which of your neighbors is a burglar, and the next day, the player invites the thief to his house to befriend him.
A few days pass, and the unsuspecting burglar liked his victim enough to move in with her. The player then built a special basement where he locked the burglar away. There was no shower, fridge, toilet and not a single window in the basement. The robbed sim would visit her prisoner, taunt him and provoke fights that often ended in tears. Sometimes, the sim would prepare hot dogs, which she would first leave to rot, and only then give to the prisoner to eat.
By the time the imprisoned sim grew old, he was close to death and most likely in severe depression. And then, the player decides to throw a birthday party! Allowed the sim to come out of the basement, wash up, eat a real, delicious meal, and even visit the park. Hope for a new beginning was awoken. The player invited the ex-offender's family to the party as well. There was everything the soul wanted – music, dancing, laughter and a birthday cake! Can the world be more beautiful?
At one point, the owner left the room, and a charming fireplaces materialized in the walls. Moments later, an elderly burglar watched as the fire devoured his entire family, and then himself.
12. A cult
If Charles Manson had played The Sims, he would certainly have done just that. The player builds a large house. With a large basement, of course. His sim was an extremely charismatic person – warm and friendly, understanding and smart. He invited entire neighborhoods to his house, teasing with the prospect of a cozy date. During the party, the unsuspecting guest was lured to a cell in the basement – with a bathroom, bunk and fridge. Gradually the sim populated the entire basement in this way.
The player visited prisoners every day. Talked to them and slowly washed their brains. Soon all the prisoners loved him, and even, suffering from Stockholm syndrome I suppose, allowed him to drag himself to bed. This initiated full participation, the doors of the higher floors became open, and he or she could interact with the rest of high-ranking members.
Unfortunately, one time the house went up in flames and those who did not die in their cells returned as if nothing had happened to their families, most likely carrying the child of the leader of the cult in their virtual bellies.
Tombstone of death
The game's creators, of course, are aware that sometimes players, rather than creating life, are just as able to organize hell. In The Sims 2, there is a cheat code that calls a specific gravestone. It brings an interface, with which we can arbitrarily kill the chosen sim. Just choose a method: drowning, burning, paralysis, terror or old age – point to one of the options, and the tombstone will kill the sim!
13. Black Widow
The last of the stories is rather classic, but it gets me every time. The player created a beautiful sim and her house. She seduced boys from around – although, in truth, she also had a history of breaking up relationships and marriages. Each lured man eventually moved in with her. A few warm words, a nice dinner, maybe a little dance and... A dark, cold basement.
Her husband was lured there and slowly starved to death. There were about 20 urns in her secret burial ground in the basement.
The player claims he did not do it for money and his sim never once went to bed with either of the men. She eventually adopted a girl and died a virgin. The daughter, of course, took over from her mother and continued her work.
Every sims thing burns fine.
And that's all the stories we wanted to share with you, although we're sure there are many more out there. Some of this creativity is fun and scary at the same time, though it's worth noting that they are basically all based on using simple game mechanisms and turning the needs of the sims against them. It's a bit as if the players wanted to punish their stupidity.
But remember to maintain a healthy distance. The Sims is a great simulator that's entertaining and informing millions of kids around the world. We only tend to discover its dark sides out of boredom and curiosity. Though, if you yourself have played the lord of life and death, maybe spend a few seconds reflecting upon a death of starvation.
