14 Android Games Perfect For The Summer (2021)

What are you doing this summer? Playing games, probably. That's great! Here's a set of Android games that will make any travel much less boring.

Table of Contents

Pokemon GO

  1. Operating system: Android 5.0 or higher
  2. Price: free-to-play + micropayments

Pokemon GO may not be every pocket creature trainer's dream come true, but it's still an extremely playable production. Anyway, if you tried playing it after release and deflected because of poor content, you might be surprised today. Niantic has been successfully expanding its game over the years, adding not only new generations of Pokémon, but also new features.

Appropriate solutions (resulting from the outbreak of the pandemic) also turned playing Pokemon GO at home into a necessity, rather than a curiosity. However, that doesn't change the fact that the strength of this production still lies in traveling and exploring new places. Despite appearances, this title still holds up well and there's no shortage of those willing to play. There are even too many – I begin every day by taking back the gym right next to my flat from a neighbor, who does exactly the same thing – only the other way around and in the evening. Damn it!

You should like it if:

  1. You're looking for something to make you walk;
  2. You love Pokémon and would like to catch them all;
  3. You don't mind the simplicity and lack of turn-based combat system.

Hearthstone

  1. Operating system: Android 5.0 or higher
  2. Price: free-to-play + micropayments

Blizzard's card game has been with us for many years now, and it's still the most popular game of the kind. Hearthstone has had its ups and downs, nevertheless, today its position seems quite stable. Adding a new class, a fresh DLC, many single-player adventures, unique modes and a specific universe – all this makes it hard to find something better in this category.

If you're afraid that catching up with a game like this and getting the current cards will involve hours of grind, you needn't worry. Hearthstone has a variety of reward methods to ensure that even new players are able to quickly catch up with the more established players and get cards that are actually useful. Just play!

You should like it if:

  1. You like card games;
  2. You're looking for something simple but engaging;
  3. You love Warcraft universe with your whole heart.

Horizon Chase

  1. Operating system: Android 4.4 or higher
  2. Price: free-to-play + micropayments

The secret is in the simplicity – this is probably the best description of Horizon Chase, a classic arcade racer. If you are a fan of simulators then flee, because this game is the quintessence of arcade fun. It's casual to the point where sharper turns are taken for us. But rest assured – races fortunately do not win themselves, and you actually have to make some effort to win.

Horizon Chase is an eye-pleasing racing game that offers quite a few vehicles. Most of them have to be unlocked, though, so be prepared to grind – if you don't pay for the extra cars, you'll have to spend quite a bit of time to get them in your garage. Apart from that, this game offers a nice audiovisual setting, which is almost perfect.

In 2021, the game received a long-awaited update that added new cars, skins, tracks and races.

You should like it if:

  1. You're looking for a simple racer;
  2. You would like something classic and casual;
  3. You don't mind the arcade controls.

Call of Duty: Mobile

  1. Operating system: Android 4.3 or higher
  2. Price: free-to-play + micropayments

Does a mobile online shooter make sense? Definitely – there are many games on the market that more or less successfully try to give gamers an FPS experience on smartphones. In this area, Call of Duty: Mobile does well – provided you don't expect a CSGO-like experience and are more suited to arcade shooting.

Call of Duty: Mobile offers a lot of gameplay modes, a lot of weapons, extra abilities and perks. The only major drawbacks are the matchmaking system and the PC players, who can really get under your skin. However, if you're looking for something in this style, this is the best choice.

You should like it if:

  1. You're looking for a mobile Call of Duty;
  2. You value accessibility and simplicity of play;
  3. You don't expect a mobile shooter to be a simulator.
