15 Most-Wanted MMORPGs Coming in 2020

MMORPGs aren't dead – quite to the contrary, they're doing pretty well. In this article, we're taking a look at the most interesting projects that should be released between 2020 and 2021.

Mankind Reborn

  1. We've been waiting for: a year
  2. When it's coming: 2021
  3. Distinguishing features: cyberpunk world, strong focus on player interaction, many TPS elements

We're a bit short on Cyberpunk MMORPGs, but that doesn't mean there are no games like that. Some players might recall Face of Mankind, a rather unique game, by the way. After eleven years, the game was shut down, but not forgotten. Devoted fans are creating their own game called Mankind Reborn, which will be based that game, while obviously trying to revamp the formula.

Mankind Reborn will not only bring the graphics up to date, but also reiterate some of the mechanics. Players can expect better gunplay, more extensive mechanics of renting a place to live, more interaction with the environment, and many other fixes, such as a functional chat. The game itself will promote creativity of the community, allowing it to create its own, competing corporations.

Let's just cross our fingers and hope the developers won't be afraid to take Mankind Reborn far beyond the original. The previews indicate there's a good chance for that. Otherwise, the spiritual heir will quickly share the fate of its predecessor. Face of Mankind, while extremely atmospheric, did not meet modern standards, and the hype quickly died.
