7 Star Wars Games Without Jedi We'd Like to Play

When EA bought the Star Wars license in 2014, I was sure the brand would be squeezed like a lemon. In the meantime, I still feel they haven't realized a fraction of its potential.

Rebel Commandos

There was a game once, where we led a small commando unit during the Second World War with the task of secretly blowing up German radio stations, dams and U-boats. Each of the soldiers had their own set of gadgets and skills, and individual missions were referencing famous war movies.

We're talking, of course, about Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines. More recently, the genre created by the game has been experiencing a revival. Firsts Shadow Tactics, and later Desperados III. How about bringing this game to a galaxy far, far away?

The question is, Would a clone trooper unit led by a Jedi knight be better here, or should we try with Rebel saboteurs? After Rogue One, I'd bet on the latter option. Personally, I'd be happy to blow up some big imperial antenna or sabotage shipyards that make Star Destroyers.

Missions could subtly refer to various themes from the movies. We could buy time to delay the landing on Hoth or try to assassinate an Imperial Commander in Cloud City?
