The Most Bizarre Action Movie Sequences

We all like polished, pampered and thoughtful sequences in action cinema. However, some directors seem to prefer to go into total absurdity and mayhem. Today, we will show you the results of such approach. Strap in, it's gonna be wild.

Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance

  1. Country: USA
  2. Directed by: Mark Neveldine, Brian Taylor
  3. Release date: 2012

Nicholas Cage is a little bit like the girl from The Ring. You never know when he'll jump out of the screen and eat you with these never-ending, spooky facial expressions. In Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance, he outdid himself in the famous scene, where he screams with a mannerism of a ghastly cartoon: "Scrapping at the door!" But it soon turned out Nicholas can do even better. Way better. There’s an utterly transgressive scene, in which the main character is shot at from a rocket launcher, and a big mining excavator becomes a tool of righteous punishment of the bad guys. A big mining excavator burning with pure Ghost-rider fire.

What is Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance?

This is the second installment in the series that adapts the adventures of Johnny Blaze – a Marvel antihero, who made a pact with the devil and became the incarnation of Spirit of Vengeance – also known as Ghost Rider. In Spirit of Vengeance, the protagonist played by Nicholas Cage's defends a small antichrist. Because every soul can reach salvation.

Is it worth watching the whole movie?

If you have nothing better to do with your life. Apart from a few unintentionally funny scenes and some decent special effects, this film is absolute and utter crap. There are lots of visible budget trade-offs and, above all, a complete lack of character. In addition, the shaking camera that was (I guess?) supposed to make up for the lack of tension is only irritating. The first part at least tried to steal some identity from the westerns, but this?

What about sales and money?

The second Ghost Rider earned just over 130 million bucks. The budget was covered, but we have the impression that all viewers who went to the cinema have long forgotten this unpleasant experience.
