The Most Bizarre Action Movie Sequences

We all like polished, pampered and thoughtful sequences in action cinema. However, some directors seem to prefer to go into total absurdity and mayhem. Today, we will show you the results of such approach. Strap in, it's gonna be wild.

San Basilio

  1. Country: Philippines
  2. Directed by: Tony Cruz, Joey Del Rosario
  3. Release date: 1981

M-M-M-MONSTER KILL. Actually, it's Double Kill, but the commentator of Unreal Tournament would definitely agree with me and give high marks for style. First of all, heroic Julio Valiente kills two villains with one bullet. All thanks to the secret knife bullet-splitting technology. Secondly, before the display of deadly accuracy, our hero unleashed a deadly slash upon his enemies with a weapon that even Kratos wouldn't be ashamed of (in his first God of War trilogy).

What is San Basilio?

It's a western about a young farmer whose parents are murdered. To avenge their death, he takes over the identity of a killed national hero, Julio Valiente, and fights the oppressors. The lead role was played by Lito Lapid, who later abandoned his acting career in favor of politics and has been a member of the Philippine Senate for many years.

Is it worth watching the whole movie?

It's a Philippine western from the 80s with absurd, Zorro-inspired combat scenes. Is it worth a watch? Hell yes.

What about sales and money?

It's hard to get to the information about sales results. The film was certainly a hit in the Philippines, where it became a cult, but it also had a continuation which helped to shape the image of Lito Lapid. It definitely didn't harm him during the elections.

Loves Baldur's Gate 2, but when he sees Unreal Tournament, Doom, or a good race game, the inner child wakes up. In love with sheds and thrash metal. Since 2012, has been playing and creating live action role-playing, both within the framework of the Bialystok Larp Club Zywia, and commercial ventures in the style of Witcher School.
