What is The Medium?

The Medium is quite an unusual TPP horror game from Poland. It has plenty of advantages. It comes from a team with considerable experience in horror (Layers of Fear, Blair Witch, Observer ), who this time joined forces with the composer of the soundtrack to Silent Hill 2 itself.

As a result, we received not only a great-looking and sounding game, but also a game strongly inspired by Silent Hill, which in the case of survival horror is a very appropriate direction.

What makes it worth it?

Great music is not the only bridge between the game from Bloober Team and the Japanese horror classics. It is also the placement of the camera, predefined in all scenes, creating specific frames and giving the game a cinematic feel. There's no doubt that there are also similarities in terms of the story. The plot is touching and intimate, and considers things we'd often rather not discuss.

Still, the game's greatest advantages are the mechanics, and the visual setting. The protagonist has the ability to transcend the physical world, taking us to its altered, spiritual version. At times, we'll see both these worlds on split screen. Aesthetically, this game is based on the painting output of Zdzislaw Beksinski, a Polish surrealist painter, who often focused on the trauma of World War 2.
