Best Strategy Games Coming in 2022

Every year there are at least a few really interesting strategy games released and 2022 will be no different, which is teeming with noteworthy RTSs and turn-based games.

Table of Contents

Dune: Spice Wars

  1. Developer: Shiro Games
  2. Platform: PC
  3. Release date: April 26, 2022 (early access)
  4. What is this game: a combination of RTS and 4X strategy set in the universe created by Frank Herbert

Dune: Spice Wars is yet another game by Shiro Games on this list, which clearly demonstrates the talent of French developers. At the same time, this production is completely different from Wartales. Dune is more like the classic RTS games, although it's not without any new and fresh solutions. It has many elements that we also know from 4X strategy games.

Players will discover the planet Arrakis, a source of the precious spice. As in other large-scale strategy game, the entire globe will be divided into sectors dominated by various parties. During the game, we will expand our influence, annex new territories, conduct diplomatic activities, and trade. All this, of course, in the setting of Dune, so count on a world full of intrigues and big monsters.

There will undoubtedly also be direct clashes with other great players vying for control of the planet. Combat, in turn, will come in the form known from classic RTS games. Players will have to go down to the ground and personally direct their troops. During the skirmishes, we will have to command various units, the proper use of which will decide the fate of victory. However, the fight will be made more difficult by factors related to the hazardous nature of Arrakis, such as the attacks of the gigantic sandworms.
