Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition is not the only remaster on this list; another notable release was Command & Conquer Remastered Collection, a package containing revised versions of the original Command & Conquer and Command & Conquer: Red Alert.
The developers – Petroglyph studio known from Star Wars: Empire at War – went in quite a similar direction as the authors of AoEIII in their Definitive Edition. We got a heavily refreshed graphic design, with new sprites and units, and support for modern resolutions. The user interface has also been improved with due care, which, according to some reviewers, has reduced the level of difficulty. It says a lot about this classic, but who had time to worry about such trifles when going through the exciting campaign?
The pack is sold at a reasonable price and offers lots of content – you will certainly not get bored with it.
