Best Games You Might Have Missed in First Half of 2022

The loudest premieres effectively draw attention away from those smaller, but no less interesting productions. We have prepared for you a list of the best of the more obscure games.

Table of Contents

Sifu

  1. Developer: Sloclap
  2. Platforms: PC, PS4, PS5
  3. Average rating on Metacritic: 81%

Sloclap studio became famous in 2017, when it released an interesting game Absolver. Even then, it provided an interesting combat system, at the same time greatly emphasizing it. Sifu is no different. It's primarily a beat'em up in which we have to defeat successive groups of opponents. However, what distinguishes it from other, similar games in this genre is the interesting mechanics of character aging. We can be reborn after each death, but each time that happens, we get older and older. And so on until death.

It's also worth paying attention to the fact that the whole thing is cinematic – especially during clashes that are shown from different perspectives. Thanks to spectacular animations and partially destructible environment, the game fantastically reflects the vibe of the films focusing on hand-to-hand combat. A hero who wants to avenge the death of his loved ones can also become better and better in skirmishes. We can develop our kung fu adept thanks to new skills.

Initially, there was no choice of difficulty levels, but the developers introduced them in one of the updates (per players' request). That's why people who don't feel confident in similar games can now try their hand without fear of struggling. It's worth it, because there are few such productions today. It's a successful tribute to an extinct genre and action movies starring Jackie Chan (and the like). There's a good chance that once you get the hang of the game, you'll have a great time.
