Cybersex, Prostitution and Inevitability of Sex – The Dark Secrets of MMO

Some people maintain our entire culture, since it's derived from primal instincts, is determined by sex. We're not going to ponder over this question, but rather examine it's manifestations in MMO RPGs.

I like to move it in Azeroth!

As you can see, it's technically possible to "have sex" in a MMORPG. Sure, you can't strip the character of the last piece of underwear. However, there are mods like the infamous "Hot Coffee" that make the fun somewhat spicier, although they're usually banned by developers. Messing with game files is generally considered a big no-no in online gaming. Plus, the use of such mods is usually visible only in the modded version of the game. So you will not run naked across Azeroth, to the horror/delight of the other players.

Perhaps the most famous inn in World of Warcraft.

But that's just the beginning of cybersex in World of Warcraft. The Goldshire Inn on some servers still gathers people looking for the pleasures of the flesh or at least sexting. There even are add-ons that add an erotic character card, where you can display your preferences.

The dirty talk is just one possibility. The game itself doesn't include any sex animations, let alone of interacting characters. Creativity, however, is a strong suit for players, and they were able to mix crouch, laying down and some emotes, all to imitate a sexual intercourse. .

MMORPG ABOUT SEX

About three years ago, Venus Rising was quite notorious game – it allowed players to have sex together. The game was rather unremarkable, save for the setting. The game took us to Ancient Rome, which was pretty rare. What was even rarer was the fact that the devs went all-in on portraying sex, and enabled players to partake in orgies, offering a special ability bar during the intercourse. The end result? Bankruptcy and collapse, unfortunately. Three years ago, Venus Rising was basically buried. I didn't really care.

If anyone really needs a game with cybersex, there's also Sociolotron. This production was based on the engine of Ultima Online, and the developers implemented many original solutions, some of which are definitely rated M. This game is intended for players at least 21 years old, preferably having access to a credit card. For pleasures are not free.
