Dark Horses of 2020 - The Best Upcoming Small Games

In times of game-services and budgets of millions of dollars, there's fortunately a good deal of underdog games that can really surprise the players. These are the productions that don't get so much attention, but can turn out dark horses of 2020.

Table of Contents

Little Nightmares 2

  1. Platforms: PlayStation 4, Xbox One, PC, Nintendo Switch
  2. Genre: horror, 2.5 D-platformer
  3. Developer: Tarsier Studios

Six – the girl in the yellow coat – made a dashing entrance into the world of video games with the fantastic, atmospheric Little Nightmares. She returns in the second part, but only as a companion, because this time, we will be directing a little boy named Mono. Mono needs to escape the world that's slowly being poisoned by a distant, mysterious transmission tower. Lurking in the dark, however, are dark creatures seeking to kidnap the children, such as a sadistic teacher from a creepy school.

The main change compared to the first game will be the need for cooperation between the main characters, which will introduce completely new types of puzzles and tasks. Mono will also be able to pick up items found in the game world and use them. Little Nightmares 2 promises to be a sequel that will keep the spirit of the original, and at the same time introduce a sufficient amount of necessary novelties. Along with the unusual visual design, this should amount to an adventure to remember.

It's for you if:

  1. you liked the first game (obviously);
  2. you want to know that somewhere out there there is a school even worse than yours.
