Remember the days of browser-based MMO games? Their era has passed, but some still enjoy popularity. During this period, one of the more readily tested productions was RuneScape, which, however, even now boasts a hefty group of players. Fast forward to 2006 – June 6 to be exact. By the way, one of the names of the bug, that is, 6/6/6, comes from this particular date. Another name is somewhat more telling – "the Falador massacre."

At that time, housing was only recently added to Runescape 2 (or The RuneScape from 2006, if you will) and quite a few people strove to be the first person to break the level of 99 in Construction. This feat was accomplished by Cursed You, who did not expect the consequences of his achievement. He had a "combat ring" in his house, and players used it for dueling. At that time, he decided to use his privilege and kick the players out of his home. This was understandable, because there was a real crowd that was causing lags.

The thing was that RuneScape labelled the dueling players as "PvP Combat," because they were still influenced by the "combat ring." This gave them the ability to attack others even in safe places. One of them, Duriel321, went to the city of Falador, which was the largest trading city in Runescape, and went on a killing spree, murdering literally every single player inside. No one in the city had the PvP status active, so no one was able to defend.

Death wasn't the real issue – lost items were. And many people lost their inventory. After Duriela321's massacre, several other people decided to decimate the population of Falador, which led to many deaths and the loss of all property. The developers punished these players, but no items were returned.
