Interactive drama
Games are a fantastic medium for storytelling. Narrative adventures are often more like interactive movies, but it's worth giving such productions a chance. An interesting example is As Dusk Falls – the creators themselves define it as a drama in which the player will play a central role – the decisions we make will affect the events and shape the heroes.
Are games a great medium for such subjects?
As part of As Dusk Falls, we will learn the story of two families whose fate was connected in the desert. We will be cast in the middle of events, namely – a failed robbery. From then on, we will jump between the past and future, getting to know different characters and their motivations. Everything will be presented from different perspectives so that we can fairly evaluate the actions of the characters over the course of thirty years. Contrary to appearances, it will not make decisions easier.
