What Happened to Heroes of Might and Magic, or Biggest Ubisoft IPs We're Slowly Forgetting

Ubisoft is showering us with new brands and an increasingly diverse catalog of games. It's just that instead of items like XDefiant or Hyper Scape, we'd probably prefer a return of Heroes or Rayman. Here are 10 big franchises that Ubisoft could resurrect.

Table of Contents

Tom Clancy's HAWX

  1. Genre: aerial arcade
  2. How long have we been waiting: 12 years

Today, probably hardly anyone remembers that of the well-known large publishers, Ubisoft was the longest faithful to realistic flight simulators. In 2003, Lock On was released under its auspices, and it up to this day is the base of the DCS World platform. And when the market has been taken over by consoles and playing on the gamepad became the standard, the HAWX . brand was created, featuring very arcade flying in the style of the Ace Combat series, with the addition of the name of Tom Clancy, to authenticate the story campaign and include modern combat machines. The HAWX universe intersected with Tom Clancy's Ghost Recon Advanced Warfighter 2 - both positions complemented each other, offering war on land and in the air.

The game turned out to be so successful that in 2010 it received a sequel - generally even better. On our site, it received a 8/10 and we wrote about it like this:

Worldwide reviews, however, were not so favorable and the game received an average rating of 6-7 / 10. Perhaps it was they who ultimately contributed to the complete demise of the brand. No mobile titles were released, and at the same time, aviation games silently left the mainstream. . On the other hand, such a dry period was enough for the competitive series - Ace Combat - to hit very fertile ground in 2019. "Seven" turned out to be a great hit, still receives support, and the developers have already announced that they are working on the next installment. Based on the popularity of Ace Combat and, above all, the movie Top Gun: Maverick , you could go back to HAWX , preferably with combined universes of Ghost Recon or Rainbow Six . With just the right amount of authenticity in the plot and cutscenes, it could be a real hit!
