Seven Best Factions in Fallout Universe

Post-apocalypse as a genre is synonymous to the Fallout series for many gamers. The legendary series brought with it a ton of memorable characters and outlandish factions, and in this text, we list the most interesting of the latter.

Table of Contents

Church of the Children of Atom

  1. Which game? Fallout 3 and 4
  2. Where can we find them? In Megaton and The Nucleus

The world was destroyed by an immensely powerful force, so it's no wonder that the people who survived would begin to worship this force. We are talking, of course, about nuclear weapons. This cult is associated mainly with the town of Megaton, built around an unexploded nuclear bomb. The developers of Fallout 3 built one of the more memorable tasks in the game around this location. After all, how often can we blow up an entire city in a video game?

The followers of Atom believed that a nuclear explosion is an act of creation, thanks to which new universes are being born, the Great War, in turn, was the equivalent of an orgy. According to its "children", the manifestation of atom's sanctity is the radiation. This means, contaminated places are their favored spots for setting up chapels.

Like any sect, the Church of Children of Atom has its spiritual leaders who are listened to by ordinary believers. Their faith presupposes asceticism and its follower can mostly be seen dressed in rags and armed with simple weapons made of garbage.

The continuation of the story of Children of Atom was presented in a DLC for Fallout 4, titled Far Harbor. This faction plays a fairly important in the expansion, but we will not waste any space here to spoil you the story.

TRIVIA

In the Japanese version of Fallout 3 the devs removed the option to detonate the A-bomb in Megaton. If the reason for that decision is not obvious to you, then go hit some history books about World War 2.
