Smash Hits Inbound! The Best Upcoming Games of 2020

What is Biomutant?

Biomutant is an action RPG set in a post-apocalyptic world haunted in the past by some mysterious disaster. In combat, players will use cyberweapons and acquired mutations. In order to travel, though, one will get at his or her disposal jet skis, jetpacks, and giant mechs, among other things. However, this is not what will make Biomutant unique.

The world of the game is filled with anthropomorphic animals well trained in kung-fu and able to use nunchaku or ninja stars. Combined with sometimes quite cute-looking furry faces, it makes a pretty unusual impression, especially since there are also high-tech robots and retro-style science fiction objects as well. The mechanics of the "contextual storyteller" are also interesting. It is a specially created system responsible for turning our missions and other activities in the open world into a meaningful story. What comes out of this unique blend will be seen in some time.

Why am i waiting?

"Everybody is Kung Fu Pandaaa..." or something like that. I get excited about this weird game that's hard to classify. I'm bloody curious to see how the solutions the authors talked about will work in action. Will the contextual storytelling system work, or will it just be a sad, low-key addition? Will the combat and the main plot pull it through? And finally, the most important thing: will I be able to play a mutant raccoon?! I'm sure of one thing. I'm sure I'll give this game a chance because it promises to be cool, different from what serious competitors serve. If you like Kung Fu Panda and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, Biker Mice from Mars, and other fruits of the acidic imagination of the 1980s. and 1990, I think it's going to be easy to find in Biomutant.
