What kind of game is this?

Awe Interactive decided to combine several genres, resulting in a combination of first-person shooter, roguelike, and rhythm game called BULLETS PER MINUTE. In this game, we take on the role of Valkyrie, tasked with defending Asgard from the invaders from Helheim. During the course of the game, we traverse randomly generated dungeons and eliminate hordes of enemies. Most notably, all actions such as shooting, reloading, or dodging, have to be performed to the rhythm of rock music.

What made the players like this game so much?

BPM: BULLETS PER MINUTE is a nod to classic, first-person shooter series such as Doom, where the incessant mauling of enemies is even more exciting thanks to a climactic, strong soundtrack. However, the developers of BPM were tempted by an interesting solution, which attracted many gamers. Combining elements of rhythm games with first-person shooter gameplay provides plenty of fun and satisfaction. In addition, the roguelike rules make each successive passage slightly different from the previous one.
