The Best Video Games of 2020

This year is slowly nearing the end, and we're all pretty glad about it. Nevertheless, at lest we've got some great video games during these past few months. If you're looking of a list of all the best games of 2020, you're in the right place.

Yeah, we know. Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord has only just made it to the Early Access program, has not yet had a full premiere, is not finished, and a lot can change about it. However, this is a production that has a huge number of fans and we have been waiting for it for so long that its very appearance in Early Access is noteworthy.

Ten years after the release of the first part of Mount & Blade, a sequel, titled Bannerlord, was finally released. That's longer than the time we usually wait for the next Grand Theft Auto. Meanwhile, Bannerlord, does not contain the changes that can be expected after such a long period of creation. Although the game is prettier than the original, it still does not meet today's standards graphically, and the changes in gameplay turn out to be minor.

However, too many changes in a production designed for a hermetic, devoted group of medieval sandbox fans might not have met with a warm reception, and perhaps that's what drove the makers at TaleWorlds studio. After all, their work is a bit of a platform for modders – the devs provided the basis, while the community will prepare mods, and in the end, everyone can put together a perfect production for themselves. I think that's what's going on with Mount & Blade II: Bannerlord.

It feels exactly the same as in the original, with emphasis on "exactly the same." What have they been doing these 10 years? [...] If I was to rate it right now, the score wouldn't exceed 7/10. Mainly because the technical condition is poor, and the game looks more like a remaster rather than a sequel. On the other hand, it's still the worst 10/10, quirky and addictive game that I fell in love with a decade ago, spending untold amounts of time in it. And I'll probably spend as much here.

Persona 5 Royal You may not be acquainted with this title. For fans of Japanese RPGs, however, it is a must-have, as well as for anyone who would like to see what games of this type get a rating of 9-10/10. We assume the role of a Japanese high school student, who on the one hand has to deal with everyday problems typical of a student, on the other hand discovers the possibility of teleporting into a mysterious, surreal world.

Royal has nothing to do with battle royale, and is a director's edition of the game released in 2017 for the PS3 and PS4. The creators improved their work in terms of graphics, music and mechanics, and most importantly added a lot of new content. We will be able to complete the entire third semester of study (previously unavailable), meet new characters and visit a lot of additional locations. In its genre, it's almost perfect.
