Imagine living in the nineteenth-century London, at a time when the pinnacle of technology accomplishment was the steam railway. All of the sudden, out of the blue, the city is invaded by a devilishly powerful and ruthless extraterrestrial race. Anyone who stands in their way will be vanquished. Sounds like a mess? Yeah, but luckily, there's S.T.E.A.M. And we do not mean the digital store of His Majesty, Lord Gabe, but rather Strike Team Eliminating the Alien Menace, i.e. the elite unit designed to combat the alien invasion, led by none other than the sixteenth president of the United States of America, Mr. Abraham Lincoln.

As you can see, the concept for the game is totally vivacious, and the deeper you go, the more absurd it gets. In terms of mechanics, we're dealing with a fairly typical turn-based strategy, in which clashes are closest to the latest installments of the XCOM series (i.e. Enemy Unknown and Enemy Within) – provided, of course, we keep in mind 3DS' graphics capabilities. We navigate the map, issue commands and eliminate enemies, simultaneously managing a key resource, without which our technology work not will – the steam.

Why is it worth it?

Abraham Lincoln wearing a steam power armor defends the Earth from a space invasion aboard a ship called Lady Liberty, and also helps Queen Victoria. Do you have to ask? Also, there's Adam Baldwin and Wil Wheaton, who voiced the two main characters.
