Action games. Wide category of games that require reflex, accuracy and agility. It includes, among other things, shooters (e.g. Call of Duty and Battlefield series) and action-adventure games (Tomb Raider). First and third person perspective (FPP/TPP) is used. In most cases we are playing as a character who has to defeat some enemies and reach a specific point. We can use a wide range of weapons, including pistols, rocket launchers, swords, knives and like. Action-adventure is a particular category within action games genre. Such titles put less emphasis on action and combat, focusing more on story, exploration and puzzles.

Dark Devotion is a two-dimensional action game by French team Hibernian Workshop. Production takes us to the gloomy fantasy land, ruled by omnipotent church. Players control the warrior trained by the religious order, sent on a mission to purify the cursed temple. During the game we deal mainly with exploration, solving puzzles and most of all fighting. Skirmishes are played at a slow pace, requiring the right timing of attacks and effective anticipation of enemies' movements.

The production depicts the fate of cloned Ellen Ripley and a group of mercenaries trying to survive the clash with bloodthirsty aliens. The production allows players to play four different heroes, and each of them has a unique equipment. Among the opponents there are iconic xenomorphs, small hugger guys and hostile soldiers.

The game’s main protagonist is detective Cole Phelps, a World War II veteran, gradually climbing the steps of a career in the police force.

A team FPS game featuring colorful visuals, designed solely to deliver a single-player experience. The game has been developed by one man - Johan "SteelRaven7" Hassel. In Ravenfield, the player assumes the role of an infantryman fighting for one of the two armies (red and blue) and engages in huge battles waged across diverse battlefields. An army comprises not only infantry units but also tanks, fighters, airplanes, and battleships. Different game modes feature various gameplay rules.

During the game, one gets to sweep through procedurally generated maps and fight numerous enemies.

The structure of the game and the gameplay are very similar to GTA, because we can move freely around the big city. The graphics look good and the whole thing has been completed with a multiplayer mode.

Another installment of the popular game series based on the Naruto manga and anime. It was developed by Tomy with handheld Nintendo consoles in mind. Ninja Council 4 is an adaptation of Naruto Shippuden, so the action starts 2,5 years after the events of its predecessor. The protagonist and his friends set out to Gaara’s rescue, after he'd been kidnapped by members of Akatsuki. Mechanics-wise, the production resembles the previous installments of the series.
