Deltarune: Chapter 2 Description
Deltarune: Chapter 2 is a sequel to the original RPG, released in 2018. The game was developed by the author of the original, Toby Fox.
Plot
The action of Deltarune: Chapter 2 is set after the events presented in the previous game. Therefore, the game is designed for players who have completed the original and remember its story.
Mechanics
In Deltarune: Chapter 2 we observe the action from a top-down view. Controlling the main character and giving orders to his companions, we explore the dark world, talk to encountered characters, solve clever puzzles and fight with enemies. Like the first chapter, as well as the developer's earlier game, Undertale, the described game experiments with mechanics, putting the cart before the horse with many solutions developed by other representatives of the genre over the years.
During turn-based battles we perform attacks with white weapons, and by avoiding enemy blows we charge up the Tension Points gauge, which allow us to use magic. In addition, the game implements a mini-game based on the rules of bullet hell, in which we control the heart of the protagonist. Game also allows for a truly pacifistic crossing. We can avoid clashes by convincing our opponents to our cause or even by helping them solve their problems. As this idea doesn't necessarily appeal to the whole team, the peace-loving player sometimes has to warn enemies of attacks coming from belligerent comrades.
Technical aspects
Deltarune: Chapter 2 uses the technology that powered the developer's previous works. Graphics of the game is kept in a simple style bringing to mind designs from the eight-bit era.
The game allows you to import the game state from the first chapter. The appropriate file is automatically generated after the end credits are displayed. However, we can also start the game without it.
