Imperatum is an hack'n'slash RPG, the action of which takes place in the distant future. The players take on the role of warriors trying to stop the invasion of an alien race on the galactic empire of humanity. The game boils down mainly to character development and combat.

Imperatum is an action RPG set in the realities of science fiction. The game was developed by Pro Social Games, for which it was a debut production.

Plot

The action of the game takes place in the distant future, five centuries after mankind began conquering the cosmos. Our species has succeeded in colonizing countless worlds, located in virtually every corner of the Milky Way.

The story begins when communication with distant colonies is lost. After investigating the case, it turns out that the blame for this lies with the appearance of a powerful black hole on the outskirts of the galaxy, through which aggressive aliens known as Spoox, the first intelligent alien race humanity has encountered, begin to enter.

Aliens are powerful and systematically eliminate further colonies. We take on the role of one of the warriors who are faced with the task of stopping the invasion and saving human civilization.

Mechanics

Imperatum is an action RPG belonging to the category of hack'n'slash. We observe the event from a bird's eye view, from the fun comes down to exploring maps, collecting objects, developing characters, fulfilling tasks and, above all, fighting.

The mechanics of the clashes is very dexterity. During the skirmishes we use a rich arsenal of white and firearms, as well as we help each other with numerous special abilities. An interesting element of the game is the skill system. In total there are 48 of them and we can freely combine them into pairs, designating one of them as active and the other as passive, modifying the operation of the first. This allows us to create unusual combinations, such as bombs that explode, hurt enemies and at the same time regenerate our health.

Collection of objects also plays a key role. All collected objects can also be decomposed into raw materials, which we then use in the crafting system to construct new weapons and other equipment.

Game modes

The game only offers a single player mode with thirteen levels to complete.

Technical aspects

Imperatum has a fully three-dimensional graphic design. A useful element is the tactical interface, which allows you to see exactly the range of each attack and skill.
