Players take on the role of the title Nordic god and set off to fight the monsters that threaten the land of Asgaard. The gameplay is based on spectacular clashes with enemies and deriving deadly combinations of blows.

Ninja Council 4 is an adaptation of Naruto Shippuden, so the action starts 2,5 years after the events of its predecessor. The protagonist and his friends set out to Gaara’s rescue, after he'd been kidnapped by members of Akatsuki. Mechanics-wise, the production resembles the previous installments of the series.

This decision influences the game's plot, ending, and gameplay mechanics.

The player's task is to defend the Ransei region against the dangerous Nobunaga commander and his army. In order to do so, he must conquer and unite the divided kingdoms, and then awaken from sleep one of the legendary defeats.

The game was produced by Etranges Libellules studio, and in English language version the voices were lent to well-known Hollywood actors - Elijah Wood, Gary Oldman and Christina Ricci.
