PlayStation 3 is the 7th generation console from Sony. It was released on November 17th, 2006 in North America and March 23rd, 2007 in Europe. PS3 came about a year later than its biggest rival – Xbox 360 from Microsoft – so it didn’t manage to conquer the market as PlayStation 2 had done a couple of years earlier. Also, complicated architecture of the console – based on the Cell CPU which became a pain in the neck for game developers – made it harder to achieve great sales results. PlayStation 3 was succeeded by PlayStation 4 in 2013.

It lets us take the role of a chosen member of the Fellowship of the Ring and set out on a dangerous journey to stop Sauron and his minions. The campaign consists of a series of stages inspired by the most memorable scenes from the movies.

The Lord of the Rings: The White Council is an unfinished project of a cRPG game in the realities of Tolkien's Mediterranean. According to the developers' assumptions, the plot was to present the events taking place 80 years before the outbreak of the War on the Ring, and the player would play the role of the title agent of the White Council. Work on the game was suspended in 2007.
