A riot simulation strategy game. Riot is the debut production from Stimunation, an Italian studio whose lead designer is a former cutscene producer at Valve. The action of Riot takes place in modern times. The society is forced to resort to mass rioting because of an economic crisis. The developers prepared an extensive campaign that lets us take part in the most famous riots of the recent years either as the protesting crowd or the police that try to restore order.

Ironclad Tactics is a card game with elements of real time strategy (RTS), for which Zachtronics Industries is responsible. The plot presents an alternative vision of the history of the American Civil War, in which both sides of the conflict have steam-powered combat robots.

An economic real-time strategy game created by British indie developer Introversion Software. Prison Architect lets you play as a headmaster of a penal facility. Your duties include designing a high-security prison, managing its budged, and providing for the needs of inmates. The authors saw to it that each prisoner had his individual personality and corresponding criminal inclinations.

A real-time space strategy with RPG elements developed by Paradox Interactive – the creators of such renowned series as Europa Universalis or Crusader Kings. The game is played in a procedurally generated interstellar space, where your job is to build a galactic empire. A the beginning of the game you choose one of the 7 playable races that differ in appearance, skills, and ethics.

An economic strategy game belonging to the popular genre of city builders. This one was created by the Finnish studio Colossal Order, creators of the Cities In Motion series. The game is a response to the popular SimCity franchise from Maxis Studios. In contrast to the previous titles from the Finns, this one is not limited to public transportation, letting you build up a whole virtual metropolis from scratch.

Another game by independent Swedish studio Image & Form, set in the universe of SteamWorld, which combines elements of Steampunk and Western genres. The game is set in the distant future, where a powerful cataclysm forced the remaining inhabitants to flee into space on steam space ships. The player becomes a captain of a group of robo-pirates who are trying to survive in this post-apocalyptic reality by raiding and plundering enemy bases and ships.

8.2 Game Score

Dungeons 3 is the third installment in the fantasy strategy game series developed by Realmforge. Dungeons 3 continues the story from the previous games. We play as a Dungeon Lord who, after uniting the forces of evil and laying the foundations of the new empire of darkness, comes to the conclusion that his ambitions are not yet fulfilled. He decides to recruit the priestess of dark elves so that she would lead his forces during the conquest of the surface world.

A tactical real-time strategy game inspired by the Commandos series. Shadow Tactics: Blades of the Shogun is set in Japan in 1615. The new shogun decided to enforce peace in the entire country which requires him to silently eliminate all the opposition that may dream of rebelling against him. To achieve this, he asks a group of five specialists who deal in murder, sabotage, and espionage.

An improved version of the old-school, minimalistic strategy game, Kingdom, that was released in 2015 by two independent developers nicknamed noio and Licorice. Similarly as in the original game, in the new title the player assumes the role of a king who travels through the world and uses his wealth to gain new subjects and expand his domain. As the game progresses, the king gains access to new craftsmen as well as production and military buildings.

A turn-based strategy game developed by Koei Tecmo. The action of the title takes place in Japan during the Sengoku era (years 1467-1573). Similarly as in the previous installments of the series, the main part of the game are the story campaigns in which the players can learn about the history of various actual people such as Yukimura Sanada, Masamune Date or Ieyasu Tokugawa. More than two thousand of playable characters appear in Nobunaga's Ambition: Sphere of Influence – Ascension.

Another major installment in the bestselling turn-based strategy game series that focus on a humorous rivalry between the eponymous worms. In Worms WMD, the basic gameplay principles remain unchanged, and the players still have to eliminate the opposite team using a number of more or less unconventional weapons. The participants make their moves in turns and their actions are limited by a time limit.

After the franchise was taken over by Kalypso Media, the task of creating a new installment was given to the young team from Kite Games. An extended edition of This War of Mine, a unique survival game developed 11bit Studios - the creators of the original - with the 8th generation consoles in mind by. The game inverts the premises of a typical war game, as we do not assume the role of heroic soldiers. Instead, we control a group of civilians surprised by the outbreak of war and trying to survive in a besieged city. The gameplay mechanics remain unchanged, focusing on survival and morally difficult decision-making.

Another incarnation of a minimalistic real-time strategy with RPG elements, developed by an independent studio called noio. Like in the original Kingdom for PC Windows and mobile devices, in Kingdom: Two Crowns, the player assumes the role of a king tasked with taking care of his loyal subjects and providing for them. Unlike the original release, in Kingdom: Two Crowns the player can enjoy both single player and cooperative game modes.

Created by the seasoned developers from Frontier Developments – a studio known for creating the RollerCoaster Tycoon series) – Jurassic World: Evolution is an economic strategy game set in the universe of the Jurassic Park franchise. The action of the game takes the players to the near future, where human scientists managed to develop a technology allowing them to recreate the DNA of prehistoric reptiles.

7.1 Game Score

An expansion to XCOM 2 developed by Firaxis Games. Its story focuses on the titular Chosen – a new type of agents working for ADVENT, who try to capture the leader of the XCOM group. To achieve this, those merciless specialists kidnap his followers and torture them to gather valuable information. They are so effective that they can even affect the strategic layer and destroy our global operations.

A sequel to This is the Police. The game was developed by the creators of the original title, Weappy Studio. Similarly to its predecessor, the game combines traits of adventure games and strategy games. In This is the Police 2 the players assume the role of Lilly Reed – a female sheriff who tries to bring order to the small city of Sharpwood.

Warhammer 40,000: Battlesector is a turn-based strategy game using the well-known universe of Warhammer 40,000. The game allows you to explore the events that took place after the famous Devastation of Baal. The game was developed by Black Lab Games.

6.9 Game Score

A science fiction economic strategy game developed by Haemimont Games and published by Paradox Interactive. The title is a city builder in which the player must design the first human settlement on Mars. Being a manager of a space colony requires the player to take care of many matters - the survival and well being of the colony inhabitants depend on it.

6.7 Game Score

An unusual combination of a digital board game, a card game, and a turn-based strategy with RPG elements. Funded partially by a Kickstarter campaign, Armello is a game by independent Australian artists and developers from League of Geeks studio. Armello is set in a fairytale-like fantasy world populated by anthropomorphic animals. There are four clans striving to take away the power from the corrupted king. Gameplay centers on exploration, accomplishing missions, and combat.

6.6 Game Score

A continuation of the original strategy game from 2011, inspired by the Bullfrog's cult classic Dungeon Keeper. In this production from Realmforge, we once again assume the role of a dark lord who rules underground dungeons. This time, however, his ambitions go much further. Apart from defending his realm, his goal is also to attack human settlements and castles that can be found on the surface. Therefore, the gameplay of Dungeons 2 takes place on two levels.

6.6 Game Score

A spin-off of the Age of Wonders series that takes us to a science-fiction setting. We take control of a fallen empire and try to raise it from the dark ages of a galaxy to a better future. Age of Wonders: Planetfall lets us play by ourselves or in multiplayer mode.
