An original 2D fighting game developed by Shanghai-based FantaBlade Network Technology, a Chinese team taking its first steps in the game development world. The plot of ICEY follows the titular heroine, led by the mysterious narrator, during her travels through a fictional, enemy-ridden world. When it comes to mechanics, the game is a classic fighting game, with a complex combo system and RPG elements. We learn to use the heroine’s abilities, including powerful attacks, jumps or dodges, which help her in clashes against single enemies, as well as more demanding bosses. However, the game is varied by the addition of the aforementioned narrator, who tells us which way to go, and points us to next enemies. Interestingly enough, we can ignore these tips, which on the one hand, irritates the narrator, but on the other allows us to discover various secrets hidden around the levels.
RPG 19 December 2017
A roguelike hack'n'slash game featuring pixel-art visuals. Crawl was designed specifically for local multiplayer and developed by the debuting team at Powerhoof. Up to four players can meet in a session - one of them assumes the role of the hero traversing dungeons filled with threats. The remaining players control various monsters, whose task is to prepare traps and obstacles in order to make it more difficult for the hero to achieve their goal. In terms of mechanics, the game resembles classic roguelike RPGs, in which the player gathers parts of equipment scattered throughout dungeons and levels up gradually, improving their skills. When the hero dies, the players swap their roles, but interestingly, the new hero keeps both the items and experience gathered by the player who was previously in control of that character. Once the hero has reached level 10, they go through a mysterious portal and the final boss fight begins.

Dragon Quest Heroes II (Switch)
Action 03 March 2017
An action game with numerous RPG elements. Similar to its predecessor, it is a spin-off title in the Dragon Quest franchise by Square Enix, and although it retains a similar atmosphere, it offers several new solutions. The plot of Dragon Quest Heroes II references the events of its predecessor. Despite the lack of any direct links to the core Dragon Quest productions, there are a few familiar faces to see here. As befits a hack and slash game, Dragon Quest Heroes II focuses on quick and spectacular combat. The player fights hordes of enemies who would pose no threat in a one-on-one fight but can be dangerous in larger numbers. Moreover, from time to time, the protagonist faces powerful bosses; to defeat them, it is necessary to use more advanced tactic. Although the game focuses on arcade hand-to-hand combat, it does not lack a complex plot and script. Dragon Quest Heroes II offers three-dimensional graphics which resemble Japanese manga and anime stylistics.
