The main cons of the game
- Stability Issues: Users frequently report bugs and crashes, especially during critical moments like winning a match, making the game feel unstable and frustrating at times.
- AI Difficulty: Some players find the AI unbalanced, particularly on harder difficulties, where it can spam units without regard for resource management, leading to an unfair experience.

- Improved Campaign Mode: Many players express a desire for a more robust and engaging campaign, similar to what was offered in earlier expansions like Dark Crusade.
- Better AI Behavior: Users wish for a more balanced AI that doesn't rely solely on unit spamming, which detracts from the strategic element of gameplay.
- Retention of Buildings: Some players lament the absence of mechanics from previous games that allowed for the retention of built structures after missions, which could enhance strategic gameplay.
- More Maps and Game Modes: There is a call for additional maps and varied game modes to enrich the skirmish experience and provide more content for players.
Summary
- Overall, while Warhammer® 40,000: Dawn of War® - Soulstorm has a strong legacy and a dedicated fanbase, it faces criticism regarding its stability, campaign depth, and AI balance, with many players relying on mods to enhance their experience.

Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War - Soulstorm Description
Soulstorm for PC is the third official expansion for the real-time strategy Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War that was released in 2004. Soulstorm, similarly as Dark Crusade, is a stand-alone expansion. It means that it doesn’t require the basic version of Dawn of War to be played. Two studios developed Soulstorm – Relic Entertainment and Iron Lore Entertainment (known for the Titan Quest).
Plot
The expansion offers a full-fledged singleplayer campaign which takes place in a whole star system consisting of four planets and three moons. The previous expansions offered only a single planet. The story of the game focuses on a weird anomaly, the title Soulstorm, which for example makes it impossible to precisely navigate ships that fly nearby it. Many factions are curious about it and want to examine it. This leads to series of skirmishes between the power horses of the Warhammer universe.
Mechanics
Two completely new playable factions are made available in this expansion. The first one is Dark Eldars, pirates that are filled with evil. They are the equivalent of Dark Elves from the Warhammer universe. The second new faction is Sisters of Battle who are absolutely loyal to the Emperor. They are female version of Space Marines, warriors filled with fate who fight for the glory of the Empire. With them the total number of available factions was increased to nine.
Each race from the previous installments of the series received new unit types. For the first time in the history of Warhammer 40,000: Dawn of War series, aerial units are available. This has great impact on the skirmishes. Multiplayer mode was improved as well.
