The fifteenth installment in the Super Mario arcade game series created by Nintendo, and the first one designed for Wii U. In terms of gameplay mechanics the game is a light-hearted 3D platformer, in some moments resembling a classic side-scrolling arcade game. You run through colorful, linear locations filled with obstacles and opponents to beat, as well as simple logic puzzles to solve. At the beginning of each level, you get to pick one of four characters: Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and Toad Ė each of them has some unique skills. In accordance with the series' tradition, Super Mario 3D World is full of all sorts of collectibles, including the brand new bell, which transforms your character into a cat. This form allows you to move faster, be a more effective fighter, and climb to otherwise inaccessible areas.

A sequel to a platform/puzzle action game developed by Frozenbyte. The story of the original game was set in a colorful, magical fantasy world. Trine 2 once again presents the adventures of the three characters bound together by the power of an artifact known as Trine. Amadeus, Zoya and, Pontius are brought to a fairytale land inhabited by goblins. Their task is to discover the truth behind the actions of the malicious creatures and to prevent them from achieving their goals. Similar to the original game, Trine 2 is a two-dimensional platformer. The gameplay features arcade elements (jumping, fighting, etc.) and puzzle solving. The main characters have gained new abilities and can also search for hidden treasures and bottles containing experience points. The sequel features also a new game mode, implementing cooperative online multiplayer.

A sandbox platform game by indie studio Re-Logic, sometimes called the 2D version of the popular Minecraft. There is no set goal; your task is basically to shape the randomly-generated world around you. At first you only have a few basic tools, which allow you to dig and find resources, chop wood, and create simple structures. As the game progresses, due to the extensive crafting system, you discover better tools, allowing you to create advanced materials and to fight monsters. There are many possibilities in the game, and the only restriction is your own imagination. Terraria features a single player mode, but you can join forces with other players, thus gaining precious allies, who can help you with the more challenging tasks.

An adventure-platformer featuring puzzle elements. It was developed by the Finnish Frozenbyte studio, known for Shadowgrounds - a series of isometric shooters. The story is set in a colorful fantasy world, where the player gets to lead a team of three characters: a wizard, a knight and a thief. Using a mysterious device called Trine, they must save the kingdom from the undead. The gameplay mechanics were inspired by classic platformers. The player explores subsequent game levels while avoiding traps, solving puzzles and fighting enemies. Each of the three characters has some unique abilities, and the player can switch between them at any time. The wizard can summon various objects, the thief has significant ranged capabilities and the knight simply packs a punch. The game stands out with very magical atmosphere of the visuals and an ample color palette.

The title has been designed with the capabilities of the Wii U console in mind.

An action 2D platform game starring a sympathetic creature of a protagonist. The game was developed by Ubisoft Montpellier and is the fifth full-fledged installment in the series created by Michel Ancel. This time the titular protagonist and his friend Globox must face nightmares which have created amazing worlds during the 100 years they have spent in the Crossroads of Dreams. Rayman must also free the Teensies captured by the clone of the deceptive Magician. Gameplay mechanics and the visual style of Rayman Legends are similar to the mechanics and style of the previous Rayman game (Rayman Origins). The new features in the game include musical levels and a system that allows other players to freely join the game in split-screen cooperation mode.

Next installment in a bestselling game series devoted to LEGO bricks and developed, as usual, by Travellerís Tales studio. This title is Warner Bros'. response to the growing popularity of franchises like Skylanders or Disney Infinity. This is the first game in the series that uses real LEGO minifigures, which are transferred into virtual word through a special port. When it comes to gameplay mechanics, the game is not much different from other titles in the series, still being a third-person action-adventure game. You play as various LEGO characters who have to stop evil Lord Vortech from annihilating humanity. The game is available for purchase in several editions devoted to different franchises. Starter pack includes figurines of Gandalf, Wyldstyle, Batman, and Batmobile. However, you can buy individual packs of characters featured in the Return to the Future franchise, LEGO Ninjago sets, DC Comics, or The Lord of the Rings trilogy.

Another installment in a series of racing games based on Pixar animated movies. The game was developed by Avalanche Software, creators of titles like Pure and Split/Second: Velocity. The title enables the player to control more than twenty customizable vehicles-characters (animated cars are the main protagonists of Cars). Among them there are Lightning McQueen and Cruz Ramirez, who prepares for an encounter with his rival Jackson Storm. The action takes place on twenty unique tracks. As player wins races, he gains access to various upgrades for his vehicles. Car development system is connected to the ability to unlock new characters, tracks and gameplay features like new game modes. Cars 3: Driven to Win features high quality three-dimensional graphics that faithfully recreate the movie.

Mario Kart 8 is Ė despite its name Ė the eleventh part of the famous arcade racing series from Nintendo, as well as the first installment created for the Wii U console. Once again we can take control of the Nintendo's most famous characters, driving their wacky vehicles. In terms of mechanics, the game borrows several solutions from the previous titles, such as underwater races or performing airborne stunts to gain points, and offers vehicles like motorcycles and gliders. Aside from well known boxes with various power-ups, racing tracks are filled with coins known from Super Mario Kart. One of the most important innovations are anti-gravity races, during which we can drive on walls and even ceilings. This is completed by traditional multiplayer modes, which allow for online or split-screen competition with other players.

Disney Infinity is an arcade game in which the most famous characters and worlds from Disney and Pixar movies appear. Production allows you to create your own levels based on selected elements of fairytale brands. The game requires a special docking station to operate, where the characters you want to control are placed. You can play alone or with friends in multiplayer mode.

A new version of the extensive editor that lets players create and share levels for the Super Mario Bros. series, developed for the Wii U console. We create two-dimensional platform stages using well-known elements from 8-bit Super Mario Bros. or its HD successor, Super Mario Bros U. We choose both environmental parts (pipes, brick etc.) and enemies. All of it is very simple and requires only the touchpad to operate. Our creations can be instantly tested, at any moment we can refine them and eventually share with players from the entire world, or try to complete levels prepared by others. Additionally, Super Mario Makers supports amiibo figures, which unlock new skins for our hero.

Mario Party 10 is another installment of the popular arcade game series from Nintendo and the first to be released on Wii U. As usual, Mario Party 10 comprises various minigames. The game focuses on multiplayer matches for up to five players. One of them plays as the game's antagonist, the evil Bowser. The remaining players stand against him and their goal is to avoid traps and various surprises prepared by the leader of Koopas who tries his best to get rid of the unwelcome guests. If he fails to do so, those players who reach the finish line with some of their health points remaining, win. We can play as characters known from the previous games of the series like Mario, Luigi, Peach, Yoshi, or Wario. The game has cartoonish visuals, a trademark of Mario games.

Just like in the original, we play the role of Sknerus McKwacz, who tries to save the kidnapped nephews of Kaczor Donald.
Shovel Knight: King of Cards (WiiU)

The last expansion to the well-received game Shovel Knight. Both the add-on and the base game have been developed by Yacht Club Games. The main protagonist of the expansion is the titular King of Cards, who is one of the bosses the player has to fight as the Shovel Knight in the base game. The main protagonist has to prove their rights to the crown by defeating three usurpers from the neighboring lands. Similarly to the base game, Shovel Knight: King of Cards is a 2D platform game with RPG elements. The new hero fights and moves in a different manner than the previous protagonists - he mounts a short charge, which stuns the enemies and destroys some of the obstacles on the map. He also has a special ability - he can perform a pirouette on enemies' heads multiple times. As one progresses through the story, the character acquires more powerful weapons, armor, and new companions. An interesting element of the game is a minigame, in which one can play cards with NPCs. The gameplay revolves around the story campaign, which is well complemented by special challenges, in which one can test their skills in platform puzzles as well as combat.

Skylanders Imaginators (WiiU)

Another installment in the popular series of 3D platform games developed in cooperation between Activision and Toys for Bob. The series uses special toy figurines that are transferred to the virtual world of the game. The mechanics of Skylanders Imaginators are similar to the ones from the previous installments of the series. It is a typical action game focused on exploration, getting through obstacles, collecting items and fighting enemies while occasionally solving riddles. The way of interacting with the toys hasnít changed as well Ė whatís more, the game is fully compatible with models released for the previous installments. Among the most important new features there is the possibility to design new characters (thanks to the toy called Creation Crystal) and completely new figurines from the Skylanders Sense group, among which there are 31 warriors.

A platformer with puzzle game features, developed by Upper One Game studio. The story of Never Alone is based on Inuit beliefs, with players taking control of a young girl from the Inupiaq tribe who sets on a dangerous journey with her white fox to save her people and stop the arrival of the eternal blizzard. During her adventure, she will meet many creatures from Inuit legends, such as Sky People, Rolling Heads or Blizzard Man. Never Alone presents its world from the side perspective, as we traverse vast levels, avoid traps, fight enemies and solve puzzles. The single player campaign lets us switch between the girl and the fox, both of which have unique abilities that are necessary to progress; however, control is split between two players in the cooperation mode. Never Alone features good-looking three-dimensional visuals accompanied by a soundtrack based on traditional Inuit music. Interestingly, the narrator speaks in Inuit language and the dialogue is translated into English through subtitles.

Another installment in the series of third-person perspective shooters set in a SF universe, popular among Nintendo consoles users. The title was co-developed by Nintendo and Platinum Games, an acknowledged developer from Japan, led by Shigeru Miyamoto. The plot of Star Fox Zero tells a story of four friends Ė Fox, Falco, Peppy, and Slippy, who have to save the Lylat system from dangerous enemies. During the game, you control the Arwing, a space craft that can not only fly, but also transform into a powerful walking machine, offering two vastly different gameplay modes. What makes Star Fox Zero different from the previous parts is the fact that it centers around employing the unique possibilities provided by Wii U and its controller. The action is seen from the third-person perspective, while the controller screen, used for aiming, features the action in first-person perspective.
