The game was produced by Terminal Reality, a development studio whose output includes such titles as BloodRayne, Aeon Flux and Ghostbusters: The Video Game. The plot of The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct presents adventures of Dixon brothers - Daryl (you play as this character) and Merle. After the outbreak of zombie epidemic heroes are trying to get to Atlanta, where supposedly was set safe zone.

This title is Warner Bros'. response to the growing popularity of franchises like Skylanders or Disney Infinity. The action of the game focuses on the adventures of a group of people who survived the alien invasion and organized themselves into a kind of resistance focal point to face the alien invaders.
