New game from the creators of This War of Mine at "prototype stage"
We’ve talked to 11 bit studios’ Pawel Miechowski about Frostpunk. Aside from some details on the game, we’ve also learned that the studio is currently working on a new big project. The game’s release date may be as late as 2019.
Recently, we had a chance to talk to Pawel Miechowski from 11 bit studios about Frostpunk, a survival/strategy game that was announced last year. We’ll publish some more details about it soon, but for now we’d like to inform you of yet another game from the creators of This War of Mine. The interview has brought a confirmation that the Warsaw-based developer is currently working on another big project, something we’ve expected since their last financial statement. Additionally, Miechowski has revealed that the new game is currently at a “prototype” stage and there’s a small team working on it – more or less 10 people led by Artur Ganszyniec (you can find more information on Pawel Miechowski and Artur Ganszyniec at the bottom of the article).
11 bit studios have high hopes for their new title as Ganszyniec was given free rein for the duration of the game’s production and his team is expected to eventually grow to match the one working on Frostpunk (80-100 people). With that said, it will take some time for the game to be completed – it may take as long as two years.
Unfortunately, that’s all we know for now. Miechowski only disclosed the idea behind the game. According to him, it is:
Brilliant, wonderful. It’s a perfect reflection of the things we want to create – things that are original, even groundbreaking in some aspects.
We are eagerly waiting for more details; we wouldn’t expect them anytime soon though.
