Body Cam is a horror film directed by Malik Vitthal that focuses on police officer Renee. When a routine van stop results in the unexplained, gruesome death of her colleague, the policewoman is the only one to read the camera recording and decides to solve the death of another officer. As the strange attacks escalate, Renee tries to understand the supernatural force behind them.
The film stars Mary J. Blige, Nat Wolff, David Zayas and Anika Noni Rose, among others. And the duo of Nicholas McCarthy and Richmond Riedel are responsible for the script of Body Cam.
Body Cam was originally scheduled to debut in cinemas in 2019, but Paramount Pictures changed its decision and released the movie digitally in 2020. In the first weekend of release, the horror was the eighth most rented film on Spectrum.
Malik Vitthal's movie hasn’t received the best reception. On Rotten Tomatoes it has 43% positive reviews from 28 critics and 34% from more than 100 viewers and on IMDb its rating is 5.3/10, calculated from 7,300 votes.
