Tour de France 2024

Tour de France 2024 is a sports game from a series devoted to cycling, and more precisely - the titular Tour de France bicycle race, which has been held almost every year for 121 years. The game was developed by the French team Cyanide Studio, which oversees the development of the series.

Mechanics

Tour de France 2024 has the official license of the famous bicycle race and allows us to take part in all 21 stages of the 2024 season. The game faithfully reproduces not only the specifics of individual routes, but also the capabilities of the competitors (the list of licensed names consists of over 900 cyclists) and teams, described using extensive statistics.

We can either take on the role of a single cyclist, who gradually climbs to the very top of their career, or we can command the entire cycling team. The mode dedicated to being a cyclist is titled Pro Leader. We can choose a specialization of our character (apart from the climber, puncher and sprinter, we can try our hand as a universal cyclist), which determines how he will perform on different stages. The second variant of the game is the Pro Team mode, where we fight for the fame of the entire team.

Game modes

The biggest novelty introduced in Tour de France 2024 is Criterium, a new multiplayer mode for up to 6 players, in which we create a two-person team and compete with other players. We need to adjust our strategy to the specifics of a given stage (which is important because all competitors represent the same specialization, chosen randomly), and our place at the finish line determines the number of points we will receive. As we progress, we unlock t-shirts that allow us to customize the team's appearance to individual preferences, as well as new cyclists, whom we can incorporate into our duo.

In addition, the game offers a standard set of gameplay modes for the series intended for a single player, such as the already mentioned Pro Leader and Pro Team.
