Andor was a huge success, winning the hearts of Star Wars fans who liked the breath of fresh air the production brought to the universe. Titles in the series mostly focus on the war fought by the Jedi and the Sith, so Andor was a bit of a change for viewers who had the opportunity to see the conflict in the Galaxy Far, Far Away from a slightly different angle.

Not surprisingly, Andor season 2 is one of the most anticipated productions from the Star Wars universe. The story of the new episodes will take us straight back to the events of the beginning of the film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story, where the main character of the series – Cassian Andor – appeared. And what more do we know about Andor season 2?

What will Andor season 2 be about?

As of yet, there is no official description of the plot of Andor season 2. Nor has anything been revealed about it by the cast or creators, who have been very vague in interviews about what awaits viewers in the new episodes.

As you can guess from the events of the finale, together with Cassian, who has joined Luthen, we will watch as the Rebellion builds. Cassian in season 2 will also learn how to become the leader we met in Rogue One.

Also in the upcoming episodes, the first meeting between Cassian and Mon Mothma should take place. And with the presence of Cassian, Luthen and Mon Mothma, we can expect the key events of the Rebellion's formation to take place in season 2.

But that's not all, as Andor has also introduced other characters to the Star Wars universe, whose stories are sure to unfold in the new season. For example, in the case of Bix Caleen, whose actress recently mentioned that her character's story will be much more complicated than anyone expects. So it seems that in the case of Bix, too, we can expect an interesting thread to bring us closer to season 2.

Cast of Andor season 2

The new episodes of Andor will see the return of many of the actors who appeared in season 1. Even some that viewers certainly didn't expect, such as Andy Serkis, who will reprise his role as Kino Loya.

When is Andor season 2 release date on Disney+?

This is a complicated issue, as Andor season 2 was originally planned to debut on Disney+ in 2024, however, when it was confirmed in December 2023 what Star Wars productions would appear in 2024, the title was missing from there. This means that we won't be getting a season 2 any time soon. But due to the fact that work on the Andor set after delays was completed some time ago, 2025 seems very likely.

How many episodes will Andor season 2 have?

The series' creator, Tony Gilroy, has revealed that Andor season 2 will consist of 12 episodes. These, in turn, will be divided into 4 3-episode blocks that will depict different years, so season 2 will cover a considerable period of time and will end just before the start of the film Rogue One: A Star Wars Story.

Will there be Andor season 3?

Some fans may be wondering if there will also be a season 3 of Andor. We already have the answer to this question, as Tony Gilroy, the showrunner of the TV series, has confirmed that the season 2 will be the last. Initially, it was assumed that there could be 5 seasons of Andor, but plans were changed and the story will close on season 2. It is possible, however, that any of Andor's characters will get their own spin-off, or someone will be seen in minor or major roles in other productions from the Star Wars universe.
