The early access release of Hades II premiered a week ago and has received very good reviews on Steam. Out of all the reviews - and there are almost 26,000 of them - 94% are positive, so we are talking about a resounding success. In the latest post, Supergiant Games thanked players for participating in early access and all the reviews left. By the way, the developer also shared short-term plans for the game's development.

The first patch is already in preparation

The first significant update is still in the works, although the devs have already provided several minor hotfixes to improve the game's stability and address issues since its release. It's planned to be released by the end of May. The post mentioned two main problems that are to be fixed by it:

  1. gathering resources - the studio aims for the player to concentrate on their important goals during subsequent attempts, without getting frustrated, for instance, by bringing the wrong tool (at present, the game offers 4 tools, each for obtaining a different resource, but the protagonist can only carry one at a time).
  2. movement - if you've played both installments, you've probably noticed that Melinoë moves slightly differently than Zagreus. Of course, that was the intention, but the devs have additional ideas to improve her jumping and sprinting, making them more responsive and expressive.

The initial changes to balance are being considered, but we shouldn't expect too many of them due to the short period of data collection. After this patch, the developers plan one more, and only then will they fully focus on this issue.

Player feedback is continuously gathered on Steam and Discord, which is crucial for the game's early access development. So if you're playing Hades II and have your own observations, be sure to report them.
