Developed by a Canadian studio belonging to Electronic Arts, Army of Two published on PS3 and X360 is a co-op, third-person perspective shooter. Each mission is carried out with the partner controlled by either AI or another player.
Plot
The action takes the player to a number of dangerous war zones. The heroes are soldiers of fortune working for a military corporation which steps in anywhere, where diplomacy fails. Rios – older and more experienced – initially plays the role of a mentor. Salem is younger and more hot-headed.
Mechanics
Cooperation is the most important and well-developed element of Army of Two for PS3 and X360. The partners not only cover themselves, but also help each other with overcoming obstacles and coordinating actions. If one of them is down, the other needs to help him recover.
You communicate with your partner by voice commands or with a menu. However, your instructions are not always carried out, as PAI (Partner Artificial Intelligence) remembers your behaviour and, depending on its nature, is more or less likely to subject. Moreover, there are situations in which cooperation is necessary (e.g. shooting simultaneously at two enemies with sniper rifles).
The mercenaries have the best equipment. With the money you earn during missions, you can modify your gear, so that it is not only more deadly, but also better-looking.
