MX vs ATV All Out is another entry in the series of racing games developed by Rainbow Studios. Similarly to previous games in the franchise, the game was released for personal computers and on consoles.
Mechanics
The gameplay of MX vs ATV All Out for PC, PS4 and XONE focuses on the races of titular quads and motorcycles (among the available vehicles there are also UTV – small cars that are similar to quads). The challenges take place on off-road tracks filled with obstacles, jumps and things like bands that make it easier to get through harder turns.
In addition to classic competitions, where the player must reach the finish line as first (including Supercross, Nationals and Opencross championships), the game features Waypoint races on open spaces and Freestyle mode where players fight for points awarded for performing stunts in the air. It is also possible to freely explore the vast, open locations in Free Ride mode.
Because developers obtained licenses for the use of actual models and names, all machines in the game are based on actual vehicles. The same goes for mechanical upgrades that can improve their performance, and for clothes that the competitors can wear. The driving model is action based, although the player must learn to control vehicles in order to win. Balancing the body of the driver is also important on turns and before jumping.
Game modes
MX vs ATV All Out for PC, PS4 and XONE can be played alone or with other people. Single players can play career mode and single races while the multiplayer features online and split screen modes.
Technical aspects
MX vs ATV All Out for PC, PS4 and XONE features decent quality three-dimensional graphics. Real-time ground deformation and detailed vehicles are worth mentioning. The ears can enjoy the noises from the engine and a dynamical soundtrack that encourages the rivalry on the track.
