Arma III Battle Royale mod creator's Battlegrounds to enter closed beta this month

On February 24 players will get to beta test Battlegrounds, a Battle Royale type of game, created by an experienced mod designer and the developers of TERA.

PlayerUnknown, the creator of the Battle Royale mod to Arma III and co-designer of H1Z1: King of the Kill, has been preparing a new game for some time now, together with Bluehole Studios, the developers of TERA. This one, called Battlegrounds, is an online shooter based on the Battle Royal or Hunger Games rules – the last man standing wins the game. Battlegrounds is going to enter closed beta on Friday, February 24, 2017. After the testing period the game will go through an early access phase. It is not certain how long the early access is going to last, but the intention is to launch the full version within six months.

In Battlegrounds, players will fight one another on large maps. The main one has now been completed and is going to be playable in the beta. It contains many diverse areas, such as swamp, flooded town, logging site, ruins, power plant, underground bunkers, quarry, shooting range, military installation as well as a river that cuts through the map. For more details on the upcoming beta and the plans beyond that, visit Battlegrounds’ official website.
