Cloud Strife is the iconic spiky-haired protagonist from Final Fantasy 7. Once a Shinra soldier from Nibelheim, now walks the path of mercenary in Midgar’s undercity. Haunted by his past and entangled with the eco-activist group AVALANCHE, Cloud embarks on a journey not just against the corrupt Shinra megacorporation, but also against his archrival, Sephiroth. That’s a lot of problems for such a young person. But how old is this enigmatic hero in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth? Read on if you want to know more.

FF7 Rebirth – How Old is Cloud

Cloud Strife was born on August 11, 1986, in a small mountain village of Nibelheim. The plot of Final Fantasy 7 Remake takes place in the year 2007 in Midgar, making Cloud 21 years old. In Chapter 1 of Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth Cloud’s memories flicker back five years to 2002 when he was 16, reliving a pivotal mission in his hometown. Part of this adventure was available in the Demo version, released on February 21, 2024.

In the Final Fantasy VII series calendars can be encountered in various places. Dates are represented by 2 sets of Greek alphabet symbols with “[ v ]” sometimes replaced by “[ µ ]”. The reason for that is simple, at some point in the FF7 world history, there is a transition between the eras, marked by “[ µ ] 2000” to “[ v ] 0001” change. It appears to align with the official announcement of the Wutai War ending in February of [ v ] 0001 according to the Final Fantasy VII timeline.
