Phasmophobia Release on Consoles Delayed
Kinetic Games has announced that the release of the console version of survival horror game Phasmophobia has been slightly delayed. One of the reasons for this is the recent fire in the building where the company's office is located.
Kinetic Games has announced the delayed console release of its co-op survival horror game Phasmophobia. Although the game in question was originally scheduled to hit PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S in August, in the end it was decided to postpone its debut on these platforms to October, to be precise - to the week preceding Halloween.
The reasons for the delay were some unforeseen problems in the game's development and a recent fire in the building where Kinetic Games' office is located. The event affected the testing and development process of the game.
After careful consideration of all the circumstances, the team made the difficult decision to postpone the release date. However, this is not a bad thing, because according to the developers, the extra time they have gained will enable them to polish all elements of the project. The developers also thanked the community for their patience and understanding.
- Phasmophobia debuted in Early Access on Steam in September 2020.
- In the game, we play as members of a team tracking paranormal phenomena in abandoned facilities. Our task is to investigate places where ghosts may reside and collect evidence of their presence using various gadgets: electromagnetic field detectors, surveillance cameras or motion sensors.
- The longer we sit in a location, the more hostile it becomes. During the course of the game, we can encounter more than ten different species of ghosts, each of which is distinguished by specific characteristics, making individual investigations different from each other.
- Phasmophobia can be played solo, however the title spreads its wings in four-player multiplayer mode.
