The developers, Weappy Studio, are teaming up with EuroVoider Medien, who are going to publish the title. In case it doesn’t ring a bell, This is the Police is a Kickstarter-funded project that lets you play as a corrupt chief of police. The game has just got a new trailer that introduces the protagonist, voiced by Jon St. John himself, a.k.a. Duke Nukem.
This is the Police will let you play as a soon-to-be-retired head of a police department, who decides to spend his last 180 days of service getting rich by all means possible. This entails striking deals with the mob, selling confiscated weapons, taking bribes, laundering money – all while caring about daily rutine and keeping illegal actions in the dark. The player will have to make hundreds of decisions that will determine the ending of his story. Choices come not only in the strategic layer, but also in various moment-to-moment crises, such as complications at crime scenes or during negotiations with crime bosses. This Is the Police will be playable at this month’s PAX East.
