Fate/Extella Link

The next installment of the Fate cycle, which is at the same time a direct continuation of Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star. As in the case of the previous title, we are dealing with a third-player action game, a gameplay model somewhat reminiscent of the Dynasty Warriors series.

developer: Marvelous publisher: XSEED Games Official website

Fate/Extella Link is another Fate title in the series, embedded in a universe known for visual novel and anime. This is an action game in which we observe the world from the third person perspective (from behind the hero). Production is a continuation of Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star released in July 2017. Marvelous AQL (creators of Harvest Moon games) and XSEED are responsible for development of this game.

Plot

Fate/Extella Link action takes place directly after the events presented in Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star. Again, we visit the digital world of SE.RA.PH, and take part in a conflict over the wishful Holy Grail (Moon Cell Automaton supercomputer).

Mechanics

Fate/Extella Link is a three-dimensional action game in which we control the so-called Servant - powerful warriors with superhuman abilities. Many heroes are available to players, such as Nero Claudius, Nameless, Gawain, Cu Chulainn, Li Shuwen, Tamamo no Moe, Karna, Elizabeth Bathory, Lu Bu Fengxian, Medusa, Altera, Gilgamesh, Jeanne d'Arc, Iskandar, Atoria Pendragon and Archimedes. These beings are divided into several classes (Saber, Archer, Lancer, Caster, Assassin, Rider, Berserker and Extra Class). Each of them has different skills, which we use when fighting the legions of enemies. Capabilities are divided into several categories, such as Active Skill (allowing you to strengthen allies or weaken enemies) or Drive Skill (most often these are powerful area attacks, eliminating whole groups).

In addition, we have the ability to "combine" characters (the title link), thanks to which we strengthen their attributes and enable joint, coordinated attacks. The clashes are played in real time and are characterized by high speed and spectacularity. For victories we receive experience points, which allow us to develop heroes. Compared to Fate/Extella: The Umbral Star, in addition to Link mechanics, there is also a new special mission type that you carry out by taking over the sectors on each of the maps.

Game modes

Fate/Extella Link focuses on a single player campaign, but the production also offers multiplayer mode. It allows you to fight against each other in two four-person teams.

Technical aspects

Fate/Extella Link has a decent three-dimensional graphics. The characters and locations have been designed in the characteristic Fate, manga style.
